Level 2: Perspectivisation Frame Integration

In this phase, the team examined Gangemi and Presutti's work Formal Representation and Extraction of Perspectives.

This refinement enhanced the ontology's ability to comprehensively represent and analyze the diverse perspectives and their influences within the context of youth subcultures. Furthermore, this collaboration aimed to ensure interoperability with other ontologies, enhancing the YOUTH ontology's applicability in diverse contexts, such as Social Sciences, Cultural Studies, and Digital Humanities.

Perspectivisation

  • New Classes: Introducing classes to represent different perspectives, such as external (mainstream societal views) and internal (self-perceptions) perspectives.

  • New Properties: Adding properties to link youth subcultures with these perspectives, capturing how subcultures are viewed by others and how members perceive themselves.

  • Ontologies Alignment: Utilizing classes and properties from the Perspectivisation ontology to ensure consistency and coherence in representing and analyzing the diverse perspectives and their influences within the context of youth subcultures.
