5.3 Summary
In summary, our approach involved a thorough evaluation of the YOUTH ontology to assess its effectiveness in handling real-world data.
We began this process by structuring a dataset specifically designed to assess the ontologyโs robustness and accuracy. This dataset was compiled from various sources: articles and blogs listed in the Bibliography, interviews and relevant YouTube videos about youth subcultures, as referenced in the Webliography. Additionally, we designed a Google Form survey to explore contemporary perceptions of youth subcultures, querying respondents about their views, influences shaping these views, and overall sentiments.
Following data collection, we constructed a comprehensive knowledge graph by merging the populated graph with the ontology graph.
The populated ontology was then loaded into Protรฉgรฉ for validation and refinement, utilizing the reasoner and automatic inference to enhance its structure and functionality. This involved mapping entities and relationships to visually represent the connections between different dataset elements, ensuring accurate representation and a structured view of interrelationships and attributes.
The resulting knowledge graph, which provides detailed insights into various youth subcultures, is now available for querying, confirming the ontologyโs capability for complex data retrieval and analysis.
Overall, this process has provided valuable insights into the ontology's performance and its potential applications in analyzing youth subcultures.
